What is the Problem?

A broken recruiting approach in the blue-collar industry is causing a major labor gap.
About 80%  percent of construction firms report they are having a hard time filling hourly craft positions that represent the bulk of the construction workforce.

Breaking down the problem further more

  • A complex and long hiring process

Hiring blue collar workers by trade and skill is a lengthy, manual, inefficient process that costs hiring managers unnecessary time and money. There is no streamlined recruiting process to evaluate the applicants quicker and better.
  • Companies do not have a reliable source of highly skilled workers

Current hiring practices result in mismatches between project requirements and worker’s experience. This results in project delays and excess project expenses. To fill labor gaps, companies resort to temp workers, much of whom lack quality of work and safety standards, and ultimately lead to rework or rehiring.
  • Workers are not empowered to manage their own careers

Skilled workers lack resources to effectively manage career development. Career advancement and growth is done primarily through word of mouth, which is limited to the worker’s near by community.
  • Lack of candidate evaluation and project recruitment tools

Companies lack resources which help them with objective evaluations and ease the hiring based on project needs and create customize pipeline stages for easier tracking.

Worker
Hypothesis

We believe that by giving trade workers a network to access industry knowledge, companies, and connect with other workers, we will expand their career opportunities and digitize existing word-of-mouth networks to make finding work and accelerating their careers easier.

Company
Hypothesis

We believe that by providing companies access to a network of reliable, skilled workers whose experience and background match project requirements, we will improve the labor management process, and save companies considerable time and money.
